The slightly simplified story is that cards in the Core Set (Unlimited through 9th Edition ) all have white borders, while cards from one of Magic's many expansion sets will be black bordered

It is unknown how many copies of the Unlimited Magic the Gathering set were made

I like to think of it like two bellcurves that overlap

We're going through all the sets published in 2025 to see which card is the best for each new ability

So slapping this Water-type Pokemon on a card makes the list pretty easily

The reprint value here is okay at best, as its lacking expensive ones that would have been nice to see like Greater Auramancy, and Argothian Enchantress
